Isaiah was speaking prophetically about a time when The Lord would move in Egypt, Assyria, and Israel at the same time and that they would be united at the heart level. Read it in context below and I will pick up with some commentary and pictures below.
Isaiah 19:16-25 16 In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shaketh over it. 17 And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it. 18 In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction. 19 In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD. 20 And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them. 21 And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it. 22 And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them. 23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians. 24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land: 25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.
I have been doing missions trips to Africa and in the old Cush empire for years, at the source of both Niles the white and the blue. You will find Christians there who believe they are the people spoken of in Isaiah 18 as bringing gifts to Jerusalem in the last days. The verses found above are very similar to Isaiah chapter 18 in that God is moving in north east Africa. Though we as Americans are so poor in geography most people don’t think of Egypt being part of Africa. A few years ago I was approached by Regina Shank of Carthage Missouri about being part of a prayer team to do on site prayer in Egypt, and Israel and the Northern border of Israel. The goal was to pray that God’s end time purposes would come to pass.
You might think that is stupid, why would you have to pray for something to happen when God said in His word that it would happen? Well it works like this, in the words of Jesus as He taught us to pray “Thy Kingdom Come Thy will be done as earth as it is in heaven”. Why would Jesus tell us such a thing? Well to those of you who are intercessors. you know that it is simply an invitation to agree with God. Ok then, I get that. Why would you have to go there to pray, why not just pray from your living room? Again it has to do with agreeing with God. Faith without works is dead so we want to touch it, taste it, and sow into it. So we took Arabic bibles into the land and followed the Lord without having any appointments. We simply walked from Israel into Egypt took a taxi to Ciro and a sleeper train to Luxor, and back to Israel, then to the north to the Lebanese border. It was amazing what God did and will remain a secret to protect peoples lives who are living in very hostile situations.
Here is the bottom Line God is about to move in Egypt, and Israel, and the old Assyrian empire and will look like shaking on the outside but inside the shaking you will find Jesus. I learned on this trip how to close your eyes and jump off the mountain into the arms of Jesus it was amazing and I am now living that lifestyle of flying into a country with no connections and following the Holy-Spirit as He opens doors. Sound Like new Testament Christianity, it is, welcome to the life of a follower of Jesus even to the ends of the earth.

WOW , When I wrote this back in 2008, I thought it would look like shaking, on the outside and it does, to the highest level, BUT. I am sitting back in prayer and asking the Lord how He feel’s about America and Europe manipulating these three countries along with many others. In the End God’s will is sit in STONE.

A man with a plan will arise have the answer in the form of an unprecedented peace treaty for 7 years.
Persecution for Christianity while other religions are on the rise. The Persecuted church “red hot lovers of Jesus” move underground while biblical signs and wonders are released through their weakness. The separation wheat and tares.
The coming war of all wars, the big one, the final one.
Jesus comes and rules from where it all began. The Prince of Peace, ruling from the city of peace, and the final and complete fulfillment of all Isaiah saw.

I believe this whole heartedly. It is easy to get turned off by “praying in the Kingdom of God”. As if it were a train we were pulling hand over hand into the station.
But agreeing with God, and earnestly praying for all to hear the good news and praying that He will not wait too much longer…I can do that!

Yesterday morning as I was studying Isaiah I felt the Holy Spirit urging me to “think bigger”. I read the scriptures you reference above. I first noted Israel is the “third” like a trinity type and then I noticed “Egypt MY PEOPLE” and I wondered if that had already happened. Also, the road between Egypt and Assyria seemed to me to be Jesus at His first coming. Clearing the obstacles would be us and the obstacles we put in people’s way as they try to come closer to Jesus. The people worshiping together as they enter through the gate. I knew John speaks of Jesus as the good shepherd and as the gate through which we enter.
I googled “christians in Egypt” and learned there is a small population of christians and they live mostly in upper Egypt in “5 CITIES”. Isaiah prophesied they would be in 5 cities and one of these cities is called “The City of Destruction”. I haven’t figured out which city that might be. Do you know?
How exciting to find your blog and see that I am not the only one who believes “In that day” has already arrived when Jesus came to earth the first time. I too eagerly await His return.
I really do not understand this passage. Why did the Most High God pick these three nations from among all the rest?

THE ALTAR TO THE LORD IN THE HEART OF EGYPT/AFRICA…
My wife & I have attended Christ Church, in Nashville, TN., since 1980. The lord spoke to me in a dream, a few nights ago, as I began praying for the understanding, as I always do, he knew that I would be reading Isaiah 19, in the morning, thus understanding much of the dream. He also reminded me how “all things work together for good for those that love the Lord and are called according to his purpose.” As He began showing me how Israel would be the 3rd part of this triune, with Assyria and Egypt, I have been overwhelmed to say the least with his presence, regarding this move of God..then I goggled Assyria, Egypt & Israel and found your info. How rewarding, God bless you and would love to hear from, and possibly meet you sometime. Now, we’ll be in prayerful agreement with you. How great is the Lord?

The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together. 24 In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth. 25 The LORD Almighty will bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance.”
So strange that I was lead to read Isaiah today. It struck me hard to see the passage regarding Egypt. Especialy now with all the problems in this part of the world. Let us all pray for GOD to strengthen the church in this region and for His intercession. May GOD bless you for your faith and may we grow from your example.

WELL I THANK THE LORD GOD OF ISRAEL IMMENSLY FOR GIVING ME THIS GREAT WEAPON.NOW I USE IT EVERYDAY TO BRING DOWN THE WALLS OF ‘YERICO’,IN THE FOREVER FEAST OF THE TABERNACLES IN THE FOREVER SABBATH FESTIVAL.I PRESENT OFFERINGS TO THE LORD GOD OF ISRAEL USING THIS WEAPON,I DEVOTE ALL IN ‘YERICO’ THAT I MAY MOVE FORWARD TO INHERIT THE PROMISED LAND.YES THERE FORE THE LORD HAS BROUGHT ME TO HIS HOLY MOUNTAIN AND GIVEN ME JOY IN HIS HOUSE OF PRAYER.MY BURNT OFFERINGS AND SACRIFICES ARE ACCEPTABLE ON HIS ALTAR,FOR HIS HOUSE IS CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER FOR ALL NATIONS[ISAIAH 5:7]NOW READ ON DEAR NATION OF PRIESTS.OUR DOMANCY IS A POOR TASTE.LET US REBUKE THE BEAST AMONG THE REEDS,THE HERD OF BULLS AMONG THE CALVES OF THE NATIONS,SCATTERING THE NATIONS WHO DELIGHT IN WAR.ENVOYS WILL COME FROM EGYPT:CUSH WILL SUBMIT HERSELF TO GOD.SING TO GOD ,O KINGDOMS OF THE EARTH…TO HIM WHO RIDES THE ANCIENT SKIES ABOVE.FOR GREAT AND MARVELOUS ARE YOUR DEEDS,LORD GOD ALMIGHTY,JUST AND TRUE ARE YOUR WAYS KING OF THE NATIONS,WHO WILL NOT FEAR YOU O LORD AND BRING GLORY TO YOUR NAME FOR YOU ALONE ARE HOLY.NATIONS WILL COME AND WORSHIP BEFORE YOU FOR YOUR RIGHTEUOS ACTS HAVE BEEN REVELED

I too was reading in Isaiah 18,19 and felt prompted to look up the 3 nations spoken of and found this website.Thank you for allowing us to see what is happening there! Blessings to you all!
Thanks for sharing these thoughts.. our Sunday School class in Vinton iowa is in Isaiah 19 today and i have been pondering that verse about egypt assyria and israel…
I too read this passage and googled the 3 nations. Its amazing. God’s will be done.
FOR JESUS TO come and the “Thy Kingdom Come Thy will be done as earth as it is in heaven” we must built that Christian nation on earth and to do that we needs the union Isaiah is telling us about “23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will go to Egypt and the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together. 24 In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth. 25 The LORD Almighty will bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance.”
We have to, actually must work towards of that goal, making a union between the Christian Egypt and Christian Assyria and Israel.
