Alma Jones hits the mission field in Her 70’s whats your excuse !!! I had just come back from my 2nd trip to Uganda and was sharing about the needs of the orphaned children. I noticed in the back of the church Alma Jones was emotionally moved. As soon as the service was over I checked with Alma to see what was going on. She explained that when She was 18 years old She felt the Lord calling Her to the same east African region that I had been to. In those days a single woman would not have found Her way through Bible college and then sent alone into such need. Life handed Her some curve balls and here She was at 72 thinking of what could have been. I reminded Her that God’s callings are sure. If God called Her then She is called Now.

She took that to be the word of the Lord and a short time later She was In Uganda. She has been there for around 4 years and this past trip I got to stay with Her and see up close what the Lord is doing with Her. She has been teaching leaders how to study the Bible. While there we spent a lot of time with a young man in His teens who was actually pastoring a church due to the fact that the residing pastor had left in a hurry with big issues. No one was qualified to step into that position so this young man was chosen due to that fact that Alma had been mentoring Him. It was simply amazing seeing what God was doing with such a young man. Alma also travels deep in the bush training leaders. One problem is Alma has no transport. She has to hire drivers or catch boda-bodas / mopeds. NOT the ideal thing for a 70 something Woman. Any way this is a prayer request please pray that the finances would come in so She can purchase Her own vehicle. Here She is after Her ride broke down in the field and had to drive back in the back of a truck.

Alma is back in the states and if you would like to email Her and have Her speak at your church her it is.

Seek to be Meek

Jesus is our perfect example of meekness. Meek in the greek is praus which means “controlled strength” . It was a word used for a powerful domesticated animal under submission and controll of its master. The picture I have in my mind comes from a prayer journey I was apart of in Egypt. The team was leaving on a sleeper train from Kairo to Luxor and we had a few hours to waste, so our driver had a cousin who had Camel’s and would take us to the great pyramids. We jumped at the opportunity. Lisa from Arkansas decided to ride horse back. Our guide gave her a old horse who had no fire left. He noticed She was a skilled rider and told Her He had another horse for Her. She gave it a kick in the flank and off she went like greased lighting. It was amazing watching Her ride over the dunes with a trail of dust between us. The power of such an animal under the control of a skilled rider. That is the point period. God has not called us to be week but meek. Totally held back by the reigns of the Holy Spirit and only move by His nudge but laying down our lives in service.

In the words of the Word Himself. The word who became flesh and dwelt among us. Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. So if we refuse to take on meekness don’t think for one minute the earth will be our inheritance. IT HAS END TIME IMPLICATIONS.

Matthew 11:28-30 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. JESUS IS OUR EXAMPLE AND AS WE YOKE UP WITH HIM WE LEARN OF HIM THAT INCLUDES BEING MEEK

Matthew 21:5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass. I THINK I WOULD RATHER RIDE IN ON A HORSE, DONKEY’S ARE SO UNRULY HUM SO AM I WELL THAT GIVES ME HOPE THAT JESUS WILL TAME ME EVEN IF I AM A – – SOMETIMES, pun intended

OLD TESTAMENT MEEKNESS: Psalms 37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. OH THAT IS WHERE JESUS GOT THAT FROM, AND IF WE ARE LACKING PEACE ACCORDING TO THIS VERSE MAYBE ITS THE LACK OF MEEKNESS.

ZEPHANIAH 2:3 Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’S anger. OK HERE WE GO THIS IS A VERSE YOU WILL NOT FIND ON MOST END TIMES WEB PAGES. DECLARING WE ARE ALMOST OUT OF HERE AND GOD WILL NOT ALLOW US TO SUFFER LIKE THE WHOLE WORLD HAS FOR THE GOSPEL BEING BURNED AT THE STAKE AND BEHEADED ETC ETC. If by chance that the church is still here on earth during the great tribulation I would venture to say She will want to be walking in meekness. DON’T get angry and send dirty comments I hope your right but if they come for you to take a name or number JUST SAY NOOOOOOO and walk it out until your last breath in MEEKNESS. The secret key to the safety of the shadow of His wings is meekness. JESUS I am desperately needing your meekness in me. I seek to be Meek

Uganda 2007

It was my 5th time to visit Uganda. I was in for a few surprises. First we ” Travis Kolder , Dale Ritter ” and myself were heading for the Kamuli district in Uganda to evangelize under the leadership of Paul Busulwa. We found out when we got there that the Crusade would not be happening and we would be doing a believers meeting. A few in the village had heard that Mzungus “whites” were coming and had put the word out that the local pastor had lied and no one was coming. For several weeks trouble had stirred and as we did show up people were to embarrassed to come. So we settled in and had daily meeting with the Christians. On the second day we felt like the Lord was leading us to purchase tin to finish out the church’s roof. Being the rainy season it would be a great blessing. The Pastor had tin delivered and hired a local man to finish the roof out. At the end of the week we saw several miracles of healing but no one got saved. We left kinda down but to our amazement when we got Home we found out that the man hired to put the roof on had accepted Christ and has sparked a revival. I failed to mention that for three days we had prayed for so many people with some type of demonic issues. One lady was full blown demon possessed and was totally delivered in Jesus name. I have been involved in national and international prayer teams and have been involved in many strategic prayer meeting and none involved putting a roof on a church. God seemed to thunder down in my spirit stop putting me in a box. The whole demonic stronghold over that village is still coming down I get emails every week telling how God is still dismantling the stronghold held in place by witchcraft. God is so awesome and makes Life so worth living.

We also Participated in a 24 hour prayer meeting at Tabernacle of Christ Church in Entebbe. Pastor Richard Kaaya had visited us in Kansas City and spent a lot of time at IHOP ” International House of Prayer ” and wanted to introduce worship combined with prayer to His city. It was a great time though I had come down sick and had to cry out to the Lord for grace and He did provide.

We stayed in Entebbe with American missionary Alma Jones who moved to Uganda in Her 70’s what an inspiration for those laden with excuses. She is teaching many basic bible study skills of how to rightly devide scripture in context.  What a blessing She is.

The biggest surprise was Linda Wadanya daughter of Jackson and Jesca my long term friends came back to the US with us. She will be living with us while attending college at longview community college. She will be pursuing a nursing degree. Dianna and I are learning to be parents all over again this time with the obstacle of culture differences to overcome. Abba is giving us the spirit of adoption and we see His grace.

We connected with long term friends Kato and Jacenta and was a high-lite of the trip for me personally. I love them dearly along with their two beautiful children their family and nation. Jesus you get all the Glory
