The Effects of our end time view on politics

I have written previously about my personal concern with the Dominion Mandate aka 7M aka 7 mountain belief. I will put the links below to part 1 and 2. This is somewhat of a part 3. I was very much involved in the prayer movement. I noticed a major shift about 20 years ago, in language within the movement that began to confuse me. Most of it had to do with the Dominion Mandate.

Part 1: https://riverflowsdown.wordpress.com/2007/11/25/dominion-mandate-or-salt-and-light-mandate/

Part 2: https://riverflowsdown.wordpress.com/2008/01/20/making-seven-mountains-out-of-seven-mole-hills/

My friend Sean from kC called the other day and brought up something I had been thinking. How would those who held the 7M view relate to the rest of the body of Christ and the world, in the context of politics?

In the liberal side of politics, the opposing view of conservatism and often labeled fundamentalism and thoughts of Jerry Falwell come to mind. That might be true 20-30 years ago but today the 7M view has placed a mandate to influence politics. Not just politics or Government but religion, family, education, media, arts & entertainment, and business. It is a great idea up front. BUT

Here is where trouble comes in depending on the persons end time view. If one believes everything gets better and better until Jesus returns BUT it does not happen. Then theological view would have to change or one would feel pressure overlook things that are bad, and over state things that are ok as great. For the liberal world that is hypocrisy. It is hard to led someone to Jesus when they see a double standard. That is happening now and a little hard to watch the back and forth bickering over what is fake news etc.

What about end time view?

My father was a southern Baptist pastor who had taught me about end times from a historic premillennial view. He had taught me all 4 basic views and the why’s. His view made the most since to me so I stuck with it. I spent about 15 years in the Assemblies of God, and most held a dispensational premillennial view. I loved the people and kept my personal views to myself, and deep down I hope that is the correct view. and that ends up happening. That is my brief history until my 40’s. I went to Grace Training center which was Mike Bickle’s school before IHOP. I took a couple of classes on end times and though Mike B had the same view that I held many of the professors did not. That is what made the school great, it was not a cookie cutter and really gave you tools to study for yourself. It was then I heard the term Amillennialism from someone who personally believed it. That view is most conducive to the 7M view so many are in that camp. I asked many people who believe the 7M view and they were not sure what they believed about end times and that may be worse yet.

I began to realize there were 2 major different world views that Christians held.

  1. The world gets worse and worse and Jesus returns for a pure church but the world is wrecked with increased sin and persecution.
  2. The church gets stronger and stronger and takes over all aspects of society and Jesus returns to world taken over by the church.

View #2 is by far the easiest to think about that would be wonderful if that happened. The problem with that view are 4 hard sections of scripture that seem to indicate #1.

Here are the 4 and there are many more but for me these are the obstacles to things getting better and better.

Luke 21: 7 So they asked Him, saying, “Teacher, but when will these things be? And what sign will there be when these things are about to take place?” 8 And He said: “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Therefore do not go after them. 9 But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately.” 10 Then He said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. 12 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake. 13 But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony. 14 Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; 15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist. 16 You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. 17 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. 18 But not a hair of your head shall be lost. 19 By your patience possess your souls. 20 “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. 22 For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. 24 And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. 25 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

Commentary: (many believe this all happened in 70 AD with the destruction and sacking of Jerusalem. The problem with that view is immediately after these things they see Jesus coming in a cloud. Jesus did not return so it is safe to say there are future events coming that will make 70 AD look like a walk in the park.)

1 Timothy 3:1-13 1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was. 10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse*, deceiving, and being deceived.

Commentary: (I choose the king James here because of the word WAX is used. It is a verb not a noun so this has nothing to do with bee’s wax. In the Greek it is Prokopto. The old English verb, wax is akin to the German and Dutch Wachs as the Greek original word meant to beat metal in a hot forge to lengthen it as in the making of a sword. That word is very important to understand the context of the times)

Matthew 24:3-15 3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately*, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All* these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. 15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Commentary (Matthews account used the same word wax, but this time to describe the hot love of Christians being beaten out and hearts turning cold. The real key here is found in an end time word seldom talked about, OFFENDED. Wow that word describes America right now as half of the nation is offended and the other half and vice versa. Offense leads to betrayal and we are moving like a freight train in that direction. Misty Edwards wrote as song about this years ago and it really touched me and wrote a blog about it found here.

2 Thessalonians 2 1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 Therefore*, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or* our epistle. 16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

Commentary: (Many believe this happened in 70 AD but if it did why are we still here? Between the 1st and 2nd letter the church had picked up the view that Jesus had already returned and they missed it so if you had not picked that up read through it again. Paul is answering that Question. He is saying Jesus will not return as Judge until after a Falling away and the man of sin is revealed. As of this moment the man of sin is a mystery. The day is coming when he will be known and I believe the church is here to see it as described above.

WOW, that is a lot, if you are still with me let me now be transparent. I voted for Donald Trump with apprehension at the time. I spent a significant amount of time praying about it and at one point I wept for a prolonged time. My thoughts at this point he is a man that has some good history and bad. I have a strange mix of hope and concern. I am committed to pray for those in Authority and He is and I will. I am interested in the TRUTH and my position will be like an umpire Strike, foul, or hit. I do not want to be hypocritical but patient and gracious. I realize there are great people terrified that Mr Trump may be the next Hitler. I do not believe he is, and think he has the potential to hold back some of the moral decay in America and maybe even reverse some of it. Only time will tell. One thing seems to be for sure, he is an enemy to ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT guys and for that I am thankful.

Many are claiming He is God’s man for the hour and saying they heard that from the Lord. Time will tell on that as well. One thing that concerns me is when Cain Killed Able God said his blood cries out. We as Americans have stopped the life of 60 million babies and if that blood cries out then God’s man may be in power for a reckoning.

Like in a marriage we are in it for better or worse, I pray it is better. America Bless God!
