What would Jesus do if He were here? What would He say if He showed up in the average Christian home at the most inopportune time?
The real question is how would He respond at the condition of the body of Christ. Would he still heal the sick,, would He still cast out devils, would he still take a whip and clean out a church for compromise? Would He be welcome, would He be noticed?
I was pondering these questions and it dawned on me WE HAVE LOST JESUS. We shouldn’t feel bad. Mary and Joseph did the same thing they simply lost God. Not that Jesus needed to be found He knew where He was.
Luke 2:41-52 41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover. 42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. 43 And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it. 44 But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day’s journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. 45 And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him. 46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. 47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. 48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. 49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business? 50 And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them. 51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. 52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
Jesus was about the Father’s business.
Father’s business vs Church business
What business are we in?
Do we know the difference?
Can you miss someone you never Knew?
Will some be surprised with the words I never knew you?
What if Jesus comes to His Church before He comes for His Church?
What if He has and He was hungry and thirsty or a stranger or just strange?
Mat 25:31-46 31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. 44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
What if we asked Him to come and do through His Body what He would do if He were really here?
Let the Spirit and the Bride say come. YES, Come Lord Jesus Come.
It’s a scary thought that our seventy years in this age is but an internship to prepare us for eternity. What we are doing at 2:00 today and 6:00 tomorrow has a direct impact on eternity. The posture of our hearts should be the #1 priority in our lives. We must get the seriousness of this issue. We must get to the place where we long for His presence more than our next breath.
